In 2021, the RW Wilcox building was renamed the Krotoa Building. It houses the departments of History and Psychology, the Division of Research Development, SU International, the SU Archives, and the Centre for Research on Evaluation, Science, and Technology.

This institutional and inclusive process began in 2019. Various stakeholders were invited to take part in the renaming initiative including all staff, students, and over 100 community organisations and institutions. The Naming Committee received all suggestions and presented a short list to the Rectorate. In conjunction with relevant stakeholders and the leaders and representatives of the First Nations structures, the name Krotoa was agreed upon and supported.

The unveiling ceremony for the new name was held on 20 May 2023.
